Hello there! Welcome to my homepage!

My name is Agrim Gupta, and I am pursuing a doctorate degree at Univ. of California at San Diego (UCSD). I am currently working with WCSNG Lab, under Prof. Dinesh Bharadia at UCSD.

My thesis topic at UCSD is "Sustainable Wireless Communications and Sensing". Over the past decade, our wireless networks have matured with almost ubiquitous mobile networks like LTE, and addition of new interfaces and sensors as part of growing parallel digital world of IoT. Hence, my research looks into how this growth can be continued in a sustainable manner in line with the recent green pushes by both the government and consumers. Towards this end, I'm leading two projects in the lab, the first one, WiForce: involves building a new class of wireless and batteryless force/ubiquitous weight sensors, whereas the second project, GreenMO: involves improved scaling of today's wireless networks while optimizing for the allocated spectrum and operational costs involved.

Prior to joining UCSD, I obtained my Bachelors and Masters in Technology (Dual Degree Program) from IIT Bombay. There, I worked with Prof. Kumar Appaiah and Prof. Rahul Vaze on 'Limited Feedback SVD Precoding for MIMO-OFDM systems'. I also briefly worked with Prof. Prasanna Chaporkar on 'Localization using Wi-Fi aided with Smartphone IMU'. Alongwith my research work, I was part of the Mars Rover Team of IIT B as well, and also served as the 'Electronics and Software Team Head' of the same.
